Nickel-based low-temperature steel is used in the storage, treatment, and transportation of liquid ethylene and methane, liquefied natural gas, liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and also other liquefied gas storage devices and pipelines. In December 2019, the 9%Ni steel plate for the NISCO land LNG tank passed the technical review of the National Tolerance and Standards Committee. Since 2012, 9%Ni, 5%Ni, and 3.5%Ni series Ni series steel plates for LNG and LPG have successively passed the certification of eight classification societies such as BV, CCS, ABS, DNV, GL, etc., and have supplied 100,000 tons to October 2019, including more than 51,000 tons of steel plates for 30 domestic onshore LNG tanks and ethylene tanks supplied to PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC, and more than 25,000 tons for large-scale LNG carriers to well-known marine engineering companies. At present, the 9%Ni steel plate for NISCO LNG land storage tanks and transport ships has maintained the first market share among domestic steel mills for 8 consecutive years, with a total market share of more than 60% in China.
